We are...

A Community of Faith, Love and Service to all

We are a friendly congregation in Madison, Ohio, that believes the Christian faith is a source of comfort and courage, justice and compassion, love and thoughtfulness, joy and excitement!

We are a community of believers united in faith, committed to loving God and serving others. Guided by the teachings of Jesus, we strive to create an inclusive and welcoming environment where everyone can grow spiritually, connect authentically, and make a positive impact in the world. Together, we seek to reflect Christ’s love and share hope with our community.

Our Mission Statement

“We are a Christ Centered Church who proclaims God’s love and nurtures spiritual grown and outreach“, is a good description of who we are. All that we do as a congregation revolves around Jesus Christ as the center. We promote spending time with God during the week and not just on Sunday, through bible studies, daily devotions and other opportunities of fellowship through boards and other committees. We support local charities such as Project Hope, The Madison Food Center and the Salvation Army, as well as others that go beyond our local area. We are a welcoming congregation without exception.

Central Congregational Church celebrates two Sacraments. A Sacrament is defined as something that has sacred significance or a spiritual symbol or bond. These two sacraments are Baptism and Communion.

Through water at baptism, God embraces you – no matter who you are – and brings you into Christ’s Church. You become vital not only to a local church, but the wider Church. You share in the life, death, and resurrection of Christ. The church also promises to love, support, and care for you throughout your whole life. Baptized, you now participate fully in life of the Church and God’s realm. Baptism is offered from infancy to adulthood.

The first Sunday of each month, at Holy Communion, we share a simple meal of bread and grape juice which is distributed to the congregation served by the deacons in the pews. Here, we experience the presence of Christ. Together, around God’s table, we recall God’s loving acts especially in Jesus, we experience our oneness in Christ, hope for a time when all will be fed, and anticipate the fullness of God’s love and justice throughout creation.
